The main work of the Oxyreducer™ is undertaken by a rotary hearth furnace. This includes the following steps:
- Heating and pyrolisis of the organic compounds
- Reduction of the metallic oxides to their metallic state
- High temperature separation of Zinc, Cadmium, Mercury from the Iron-, Copper- and Manganese fraction.
- Oxidation of the process gases as well as the re-oxidation of Zinc.
The reaction is mainly controlled by the following parameters: temperature, concentration of
oxygene and retention time.
